Summary
Filz! has no analytics, advertising SDKs, third-party tracking, or Filz! cloud account system. The app uses local device storage and local network connections only as needed to provide file and text transfers.
Data Stored on This Device
Settings, favourite devices, transfer history, and draft shared files are stored locally on your device.
- Transfer history is optional and can be turned off or deleted from Settings.
- Files shared to Filz! are kept only as needed to prepare and send the transfer.
- Filz! does not operate a cloud service for storing your files.
Transfers
Files and text are transferred directly between devices on your local network. Filz! does not upload your files to a cloud service or route them through a Filz! server.
Nearby device names, addresses, and transfer metadata are used only to discover devices and complete transfers with LocalSend-compatible devices.
Permissions
- Local Network: used to discover and communicate with nearby LocalSend-compatible devices.
- Photo Library Add Access: used only when you choose to save received photos or videos to your gallery.
- File Access: used only for files you select, receive, or share into the app.
Third-Party Services
Filz! is built on LocalSend-compatible transfer technology and open source components. These components run as part of the app and are not used to track you.
